GREAT CHAMPIONS - SRIXON

Great champions are defined by great achievements, great character and the respect of their fellow competitors. In a sport like golf, where there exists a razor thin edge between success and failure, a player must have absolute and total trust in everything they do, particularly the equipment they use - their tools of the trade. It is but one part of the formula that instills the confidence that separates the great ones from the rest of the pack.

JIM FURYK

Jim Furyk

Jim Furyk has most certainly separated himself. 2006 was his best year to date with 2 wins, 4 seconds, 9 thirds and 13 top 10 finishes - finishing the year ranked as the world no.2. He also carded the lowest stroke average in the world for the 2006 season. Furyk has also tied the recorded for the lowest 72-hole score in the US Open history to win his first major championship.

Developing a love for the game of golf, Robert began his career by becoming one of Australia's finest young amateurs. He won the 1989 Australian Junior Amateur Championship, 1990 Victorian Amateur Championship, 1991 Victorian Open (only amateur ever to win this tournament), 1991 & 1992 Riversdale Cup, was runner-up in the 1991 Australian Open and in 1990 represented Australia in the Eisenhower Cup and on the World Amateur Team.

Robert turned professional in 1992, and found immediate success on the golf course. His stellar play earned him the PGA Tour of Australasia Order of Merit and Rookie of the Year honors. He was named the PGA Tour of Australasia's Most Consistent Player, and that play continued into 1994 when he reached a milestone by winning his first Australian Open and capturing another PGA Tour of Australasia Order of Merit.

Robert's 1996 season on the European Tour, when he finished third on Order of Merit, ended prematurely in October when he suffered a broken sternum and facial injuries in a traffic accident in Spain. Robert regained his touch nonetheless and joined the PGA TOUR in 1999. Capturing four victories in two seasons, he was recognized by the Golf Writers Association of America and presented the 2001 Ben Hogan Award for his recovery from that accident.

In 2005, Robert completed a historic achievement in Australian golf by becoming the first golfer to secure the “Triple Crown” by winning the MFS Australian Open, Australian PGA Championship and the MasterCard Australian Masters in succession.

A five-time member of the Presidents Cup - International Team, Robert's consistent play continues as he endeavours to join the team once again for the 2011 matches at Royal Melbourne.
