BRENDAN JONES - 1999 CHAMPION
Bobby Jones, I mean Brendan Jones, like others started playing golf at the age of 12, at the Moroya Golf Club in NSW, where he lived nearby with his parents and sister.
Brendan's Amateur success from 1992 when he was selected in the Australian under 18 Team. Until he was crowned Australian Amateur Champion in 1999 is nothing short of remarkable and would take an eternity to list all of his achievements, we do know however that he had an emphatic victory in the 1999 Master of the Amateurs. Displaying his enormous talent to an appreciative audience.
Brendan announced he was leaving the amateur ranks, and turned Professional on the presentation of the Master of the Amateurs "Green Jacket" and his title of "Master of the Amateurs". Brendan firstly secured his Asian Tour Card and was extremely successful on tour in Asia.
In more recent times Brendan has secured his American Tour Card, and is very successful on the USA PGA Tour.
