Day 2 Highlights

Posted on: 6 January

The second day of the 2021 Australian Master of the Amateurs was ‘Moving Day’, with over 22 players in close contention. Today’s playing conditions were more favorable than Day 1, with minimal rain. However, the constant wind made the greens faster throughout the day. In addition to the wind, the pins were in tough positions, with several players landing in the bunkers.

Nicholas Siegmund led The Men’s Championship with a 68 today, making his total (-4). Closely followed by Henry Fewell, Phoenix Campbell, and Konrad Ciupek, fighting it out at (-3).

The Women’s Championship is also close with Lion Higo leading the pack, at (-1). Lion’s short game was on fire, sinking an impressive 30-foot putt on the 9th hole. Justice Bosio is following close behind at (+2), and Stephanie Bunque at (+5).

Day 3 won’t disappoint, with players fighting to move up the leaderboard to ensure they make the cut at the end of the day. The Australian Master of the Amateurs continues to display Australia’s best talent at the prestigious Victoria Golf Club.
