Testimonials

Rianne Malixi (PHL)

2024 Women’s Australian Master of the Amateurs Champion.

I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for the incredible opportunity to compete in the Australian Masters of the Amateurs. This being my first experience playing in Australia, the honor is truly beyond words.

What makes Australian Masters of the Amateurs possess much prestige is the amount of notable and highly ranked players competing in the field. Past eminent champions such as Jason Day, Rickie Fowler, and Tommy Fleetwood, among many others, emphasize the renowned reputation this event holds. I am immensely grateful for this experience.

I perceive profoundly that everyone accorded so much love, time, hard work, and dedication to this week at the Southern Golf Club. Despite the challenges posed by heavy rains during the practice rounds, the resilience of volunteers and members in improving the course conditions just before the first round exemplifies your exceptional commitment to the event.

I applaud the Southern Golf Club, Mr. and Mrs. Mann, the volunteers, the members, the sponsors, and everyone else behind the scenes for making the AMOTA possible. This is my first amateur win on foreign soil! I am humbled and hold in great respect to be your 2024 Women’s AMOTA Champ. This week holds a very special place in my heart.

Mabuhay and let’s all continue to “Live the dream”. Maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat.

Sincerely,

Rianne M.

2023 Men’s Australian Master of the Amateurs Champion.

The Australian Master of the Amateurs has been one of my favorite highlights of amateur golf disregarding any result. The prestigious event is run so smoothly by a fantastic team, and the golf course proves a real challenge of not only skill, but patience and determination. It was an honor to win the event, but just taking part representing my country in the World Cup is the main honor itself. I would highly recommend anyone who can play it, does so as you will not miss out!

Have a great rest of the year and thanks again to you and all the team behind the scenes!

Many thanks,

John Gough

Hi Angela and Peter Mann,

The Australian Master of the Amateurs is always an exciting part of the year on the calendar, and always a perfect way to kick off the year of tournament golf. This year certainly did not disappoint, I was fortunate enough to play this event 2 years ago for the first time and I was blown away with how the tournament was run. The quality of hospitality and the professional manner it is run in, is truly outstanding. It is possibly the only amateur event on the Australian calendar that makes us feel like we play a professional event. With the last year of tournament golf being heavily impacted by COVID, it was awesome to be back at this event and be on a championship golf course and setup like Victoria golf club. It’s always been an event that I wanted to win and to be able to achieve that this year is an absolute honour and be able to put that green jacket on is an amazing feeling.

Many thanks to Angela and Peter Mann and all the other countless staff involved in AMOTA, the enthusiasm and drive to host an event of this nature is a testament to how much they love golf and want to produce world class professional players in the future.

Hi Angela,

My week at the Master of the Amateurs had been amazing with all the ongoing support from you and Peter, as well as Callaway. I would also like to thank Peter and yourself, and Callaway for giving me an opportunity to compete in this prestigious tournament. I would also like to express my gratitude to Victoria Golf Club for hosting once again, a brilliant tournament, with the course playing in immaculate conditions with challenging greens and weather.

This is my 4th time playing this event and this tournament has allowed my golf game to improve greatly through all the experiences gained from playing with all the top, elite amateurs from all over the world. My first year playing this tournament was in 2019 (when I was 14 years old) and was so stocked to have made the cut and finished 17th. In 2020, I finished 11th. In 2021, I finished 4th. And this year, I have met one of my goals in winning the 2022 Women’s Australian Master of the Amateurs! This tournament is definitely one of my biggest wins, alongside winning the Riversdale Cup back-to-back in 2020 and 2021. Essentially, I believe that this tournament has allowed my golf game to accentuate immensely in giving me the experience to play in one of Australia’s best courses, whilst competing along some of the top amateurs around the world.

Thank you!

Dear Angela,

I would like to extend my appreciation and thank you to you and your team for your work behind the scenes at the Australian Master of the Amateurs.

The tournament was run very smoothly from start to finish and I thoroughly enjoyed my first time playing in this event. I am very grateful for the opportunity to compete in a quality field to challenge my game. I have taken away an abundance of knowledge to apply into bettering myself as a golfer and as a person. I also thoroughly enjoyed playing Victoria Golf Club which was presented in immaculate condition. I admire the vision of this event to inspire and develop the next generation of Australian amateur golfers.

I am looking forward to returning next year.

Mann family,

I just wanted to say thank you guys for putting on such a wonderful event. I thoroughly enjoyed my time down in Melbourne. From the wonderful golf course that was in top condition in Victoria Golf Club, to the fun Am-Am round, to meeting all the sponsors that made the event possible, pretty much every aspect of the event was great. It was certainly an experience that I won’t be forgetting anytime soon. I’m very happy that I made the decision to travel down to Australia for the event after all the good things I heard, and to experience those good things myself. I don’t get to play golf like it was presented at Victoria Golf Club much, if at all, in the States, so to also have that experience under my belt is something that I feel like is going to be a big asset moving forward in my career. Again, can’t thank you guys enough for all that you do to put together such a great event. Will definitely be telling my friends about the event and hopefully get a few Pepperdine guys to go under this coming year!

Thank you,
Sahith Theegala

Dear Angela,

I wanted to take the time to thank you, Peter, the entire Mann family, and everyone who helps make the Master of the Amateurs the tournament that it is. I was blown away by the dedication and hard work that you all put into the tournament and at the end of the day it really shows by setting itself apart from anything I’ve played in before. Unlike the majority of the tournaments that we play in, you go above and beyond to make each player there feel welcome and special. I only wish that all the events that us young amateur golfers play in were run the same way. I cannot thank you and the International Committee enough for giving me this once in a lifetime opportunity to play in the event and “live the dream”, it is something that I will never forget!

Best Regards,
Ricky Costello

Hi Angela,

Just writing to you and Peter to thank you for my acceptance in the event this year, it was my first year playing the The Master of the Amateurs and I undoubtedly enjoyed it, I thoroughly thought that it was such a well run event and made myself as a player and I’m sure everyone else feel special to be apart of it because it was so professionally ran and gave a professional event vibe to all the players. If given the opportunity would love to be able to play it next year and I think this event for Aussies is a massive stepping stone in comparing our games to the best amateurs in the world where a lot of players that have played in this event have gone onto great things.

So once again thanks heaps
