THE NUMBER ONE AUSTRALIAN OFFICIAL WORLD AMATEUR GOLF EVENT
The NEC Master of the Amateurs Championship, an Official World Amateur Golf Ranking Event, is in Category A and currently ranked at 49 on the R&A World Rankings. This championship is ranked by the R&A as the number one Australian Amateur Golf Event.

The NEC Master of the Amateurs Championship is a 72-Hole Stroke event for amateur golfers with a handicap not exceeding 2.4. Entry into this championship is by qualifying in the Australian Qualifying Round to be played at Royal Melbourne Golf Club on Friday 18th September 2009, or through the Player Entry Exemption Categories.

The NEC Master of the Amateurs Championship will be played at the Yarra Yarra Golf Club, on Melbourne's famous sandbelt, January 10 -14 2010.

PLAYER EXEMPTION CATEGORIES 2009 USA AMATEUR CHAMPION USA 2009 BRITISH AMATEUR CHAMPION UK 2009 PORTER CUP CHAMPION USA 2009 PLAYERS AMATEUR CHAMPION USA 2009 DOGWOOD INVITATIONAL CHAMPION USA 2010 JUNIOR MASTERS CHAMPION CURRENT AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL SQUAD MEMBERS AT THE TIME OF THE 2010 CHAMPIONSHIP TOP 50 AMATEUR PLAYERS ON THE R&A WORLD AMATEUR RANKING - INTERNATIONAL PLAYERS NOMINATED BY NATIONAL GOLF ASSOCIATIONS - INTERNATIONAL TEAMS MASTER OF THE AMATEURS PAST CHAMPIONS (10 YEAR EXEMPTION, UNLESS PROFESSIONAL STATUS) TOP TEN PERCENT OF THE FIELD ON THE DAY, FROM THE NEC MASTER OF THE AMATEURS AUSTRALIAN QUALIFYING ROUND	2010 MASTER OF THE AMATEURS CHAMPION EXEMPTIONS The 2010 Master of the Amateurs Champion shall receive Exemptions into: 2010 BRITISH AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP UK 2010 PORTER CUP USA 2010 THE PLAYERS AMATEUR USA 2010 THE DOGWOOD INVITATIONAL USA
